چکیده
Tea is a beverage that known to contain polyphenols. Furthermore, the medicinal uses of mangroves have been recognized in tropical and subtropical coastal regions. Several polyphenols their leaves bark, previous studies demonstrated plant extracts are effective against many diseases. Moreover, use as tea materials has some However, scientific information on polyphenol content antioxidant activities limited. Trolox equivalent capacity (TEAC) based 2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging assay total (TPC) methanolic hot water from six mangrove species were examined, results compared those green, oolong, black, mate teas. Remarkably high TPC TEAC found three belonging Rhizophoraceae. The highest values among almost same or higher than reference materials, with few exceptions. significant correlation was observed between respective extracts, properties seemed originate mainly polyphenolic compounds. Regarding extractive efficiency, it could be extracted by using water. Based this study, we concluded Rhizophoraceae used an important source water-soluble natural antioxidants. • study provided new level major species. Remarkable activity 3 sample polyphenol-enriched teas exemptions. mostly extractable

15 صفحه اولCatechin content of 18 teas and a green tea extract supplement correlates with the antioxidant capacity.
Our literature review of currently available data in the area of tea and cancer prevention demonstrated that there is more conclusive evidence for the chemopreventive effect of green tea compared with black tea. We suggest that this is due to a large variation of the flavanol content in tea, which is not taken into consideration in most of the epidemiological studies. It was the purpose of this...
